FAW Group Corporation (FAW) announced on Jan 4 that it sold 2,843,900 vehicle in 2015, beating its 2015 target of 2,800,000 units.
FAW-Volkswagen, a joint venture between FAW Group and Volkswagen AG, sold 1,650,000 units last year. Deliveries of the company's VW brand reached 1,140,000 units. Audi, with sales of 510,000 units, also maintained its leading position in China’s luxury brand market.
FAW-Toyota, a joint venture between FAW Group and Toyota Motor Corporation, vigorously pressed ahead with its small-displacement vehicle strategy and North China strategy as well as actively expanded marketing thinking, realized annual sales of 610,000 units in 2015.
FAW Car, a subsidiary of FAW Group, sold 235,000 vehicles last year. Besturn brand sold 149,000 units; The sales of Hongqi, China’s first home-grown luxury brand, excess 5,000 units.
FAW Group's Jiefang commercial truck division sold 142,000 units of light, medium, and heavy trucks in 2015.
Deliveries of FAW Jilin Automobile Co., Ltd. increased 12.5 percent year on year to 52,000 units.
