Following the principle of “developing original and innovative technologies”, FAW Group has continuously infused powerful technology vitality into new Hongqi brand, and established a global R&D layout of “nine places in three countries”. 

The Hongqi Design Center, the NEV R&D Center and the ICV R&D Center have been established in Changchun, Jilin province, China, which is the headquarters of the Global R&D of Hongqi brand. FAW has also established the Foresight Tech Innovation Center and the Experience Perception and Measuring Center in Beijing, China, and the NEV R&D branch in Shanghai, China. 

In Munich, Germany, FAW has set up the Hongqi Forsight-Looking Design Branch, aiming at fostering design genes for Hongqi by integrating aspirations from FAW’s corporate culture, cutting-edge technologies as well as the essences of traditional Chinese culture.

In Silicon Valley, CA, US, FAW has established the AI R&D Branch to conduct research and development of intelligent connected technologies, including AI, autonomous driving and big data. 

A technology development company has been established in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, to attract domestic professional talents in AI field for the research and development of technologies related to AI and other foresight intelligent connections.

FAW has also established a vehicle testing base in Hainan province, China, and an ICVs testing ground in Shandong Province, China. 

By bringing in talents from around the world, FAW has established an outstanding R&D team with more than 5,000 people, and formulated a world-class R&D system, and development and trial process, to meet the high-end quality standard of Hongqi.
