FAW Group launched production of its new SUV model, the Xenia R7, in its assembly plant in the northeast China city of Jilin on April 7. FAW Group said it will begin sales in April, coinciding with the Beijing auto show.

Developed on the home-grown SUV platform, the vehicle is 4,305 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,655 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

The Xenia R7 is powered by a CA4GB16 engine paired with five-speed manual transmission and automatic transmission. The SUV features a variable inlet timing system to ensure power output smoothly and to save fuel.

The SUV also features with some high-tech settings including smart phone link system, smart entry and start systems, and automatic air conditioning system. In safety, the new model adopts Electronic Stability Program, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Parking Radar with 4 Probes and Reverse Image as well as Anti-glare Inside Rear-view Mirror.
