FAW Group’s Hongqi brand announced on Dec 31 that it sold 39,100 vehicles in December, the highest number in the brand’s history. In 2021, the sales volume of Hongqi surpassed 300,000 vehicles, soaring 50% year on year. The growth speed is tenfold the industry average, according to Hongqi.

Hongqi H9, a flagship model of the brand, sold a total of 40,000 vehicles in 2021. Hongqi E-HS9, a full-sized intelligent all-electric SUV model, saw its 2021 sales up to 5,400 units.

Hongqi stated it dashed with all its might to smooth away such difficulties as coronavirus resurgence, chip shortage, and extreme weather conditions, resulting in strong growth in both outputs and sales. The brand said that its total annual sales volume in 2021 is 63 times than four years ago.

On December 24, Hongqi announced that it had attracted over 600,000 users in total.
