FAW Donates RMB 16.68 Million to “Hongqi Dream Class” Project

FAW Group Corporation (FAW) announced on Dec 9 that it donated RMB 16.68 million to the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) for the “Hongqi Dream Class” project, which will be used to support more than 10,000 students in areas that have been lifted out of poverty to realize their dreams of continuing studies. 

The “Hongqi Dream Class” project was jointly launched by FAW and CFPA in 2018. To date, FAW has offered RMB 66.7 million to the project, and established 211 “Hongqi Dream” classes at former 108 national level impoverished counties in 15 provinces across China. A total of 10,575 senior high school students with financial difficulties had received assistance from this project. Moreover, FAW also introduced “Hongqi Dream Builder” plan this year, which allows consumers who purchase Hongqi H9 or Hongqi E-HS9 sedans to apply for the title of Hongqi dream builders. Hongqi brand will donate 990 yuan to students with financial difficulties in the name of every Hongqi dream builder.

Since its launch in 2018, the “Hongqi Dream Class” project has made fruitful results and received highly praises from the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council. In September this year, the project was awarded the honorary title of the 11th “China Charity Award”, which was issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
