In the first month of 2024, FAW Group Corporation (FAW) announced an all-around growth in sales across its entire sub-brand lineup compared to the same period last year. In January 2024, FAW delivered 296,800 vehicles in total with a remarkable year-on-year surge of 54.2%.
Hongqi, the luxury brand of the group, saw its monthly sales hit a new high of 40,300 units last month, surging 82.9% from the year-ago period. Among which, the combined sales of the all-new Hongqi H5 and the new HS5 models leapt 178% from the previous year.
FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle segment of FAW Group, also did well at the beginning of 2024, with its market shares reached 24.3%, 32.8% and 33.9% in medium- and heavy-duty truck market, natural gas towing truck market, and coal transportation diesel vehicle market, respectively.
FAW Bestune, FAW Group’s another wholly-owned passenger vehicle brand, maintained its steady growing momentum in sales. In January 2024, the brand saw both its wholesale and terminal sales exceed 10,000 units, rising 86% and 121% respectively over a year earlier. The B70, Bestune’s mainstay model, posted a monthly retail volume of over 5,000 units.
As for joint ventures, FAW-Volkswagen has been actively accelerating the implementation of electric and hybrid electric technologies onto its products. Meanwhile, FAW Toyota adheres to its all-new approach with different marketing, channel distribution, strategy, model, and new energy, aiming to further facilitate its transformation and leapfrog development.
