Following the 1,000,000th millionth cars down line from FAW-VW southwest China base in Apr this year, and the south China base phase II laid foundation in May, FAW-VW today commences its east China base construction in Qingdao. The event means that the company has stepped towards its year 2020 strategic plan.

In accordance with the plan, the construction period of the east base is 36 months. The base covers a land area of 6.5 million square meters, and locates in Longquan, a town of Qingdao. FAW-VW east base will formally start production of sedan and SUV in 2017 with annual output of 300,000 units. The base is planned to have areas of OEMs, component parts, logistics, commercial car logistics, and so on. FAW-VW hopes the east base will make premium products, and provide consumers even better services.

Sales volume of FAW-VW has already exceeded 1.3 million units from Jan to Sep. FAW-VW has sold over 9.6 million cars totally since its founding. It is forecasted that FAW-VW is capable of selling ten million cars by the end of this year.
