Xu Liuping, Secretary of the CPC FAW Group Committee and Chairman of the group, fully elaborated on Hongqi’s strategic vision, targets, planning, and innovative measures in the future. “By establishing and developing four sub-brands including ‘New Energy Vehicle (NEV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Luxury Vehicle, and Sports Car’, FAW will further improve Hongqi’s overall brand architecture in the future,” said Xu Liuping, adding that Hongqi expects to realize annual sales of 1 million units by 2025, including more than 500,000 new energy vehicles; by 2030, the annual sales will exceed 1.5 million units, of which new energy vehicles will become the biggest contributors to the sales.

At the conference, Xu Liuping released Hongqi NEV’s brand mission, vision, philosophy, targeted customers, logo, new design language, leading technologies, and launched the “Qizhi” high-end electric and smart super architecture FMEs. Three Hongqi NEV models, developed based on the architecture, were also unveiled at the conference.

Hongqi NEV brand’s new logo “Qi Miao Two Wings” was also unveiled at the conference. The new logo not only expresses the original intention of the Hongqi new energy brand to care about nature and cherish life, but also shows the determination of the Hongqi brand to focus on new energy and green intelligent mobility, and demonstrates the innovation and creation of the Hongqi new energy brand and its ambition to lead the world's high-end new energy automobile industry.

“The FMEs super architecture has five ‘extreme’ advantages. They are extremely innovative, possess extremely high-level integration, have extremely original innovation, extremely excellent advanced manufacturing, and extremely high-cost advantages,” said Xu at the conference.

The FMEs architecture consists of two platforms – HME and HIS. The HME involves high-energy and safety batteries, efficient electric drives, high-power and smart charging system and intelligent chassis. The HIS platform involves an advanced electronic and electrical (E/E) system, an autonomous driving system and a comfortable cabin system.

The development work of the “Qizhi” FMEs architecture will be completed in the first half of 2023. By then the FMEs will involve more than 10,000 patents and pieces of software copyright. At the same time, Hongqi brand will work together with Chinese leading enterprises to build the core and basis ecosystem of auto industry, particularly in two major fields of “chip” and “operating system”. The core goal is to develop global leading cockpit and driving integrated smart chip “Qizhi”, which features five-sphere integration of “vehicle control, smart driving, cockpit, communication and safety”, and to develop a real-time, high- compatibility, and open and shared complete vehicle operating system “FAW.OS”. The two core and basis technologies have been introduced into models under development. These are scheduled to hit the market from the second half of this year and in 2024.

In terms of major new energy vehicles, Hongqi is scheduled to launch its B-segment BEV E001 in the second half of 2023. The E001, with its battery can be charged, swapped and upgraded, offers up to 600km to 1000km of range with energy consumption resulted in as low as 12.9kWh/100km. Its acceleration from 0-100 km per hour reaches 3 seconds.

The Hongqi E202 B-segment all-electric SUV will make its debut in late 2023. Loaded with a 800V Ultra-Fast Charging system, users only need to charge the vehicle for five minutes to 300km of range. The model also features intelligent air suspension and an intelligent four-wheel driving system. At the same time, the precise auto driving system can cover most scenarios such as expressways, city roads and parking lots.

The Hongqi E702 luxury flagship electric sedan, equipped with high-end intelligent chassis system and all-weather autonomous driving system, as well as world-class Dolby Atmos audio system, will hit the market in the first half of 2024.

By 2025, FAW Hongqi NEV brand plans to roll out 15 smart NEV models, covering all segments of the car, SUV and MPV markets. “Our goal is to allow more Chinese and global consumers to enjoy wonderful mobility, beautiful experiences and a better life,” said Xu at the conference.
