  • On March 20, the Hongqi EH7 electric sedan, the first strategic model under FAW’s Hongqi New Energy Brand, hit the market with a price ranging from 229,800 yuan to 309,800 yuan.

    Riding on Hongqi’s exclusively designed FMEs platform architecture, the EH7 delivers a maximum power of 455 kW, and can zip from 0-60km/h in only 1.8 seconds and 80-120km/h in 2.3 seconds.

    Designed beyond the dual five-star safety standards of the Chinese C-NCAP and European E-NCAP, the EH7 can provide users with comprehensive passive, active and battery safety.

    Moreover, the EH7 adopts Hongqi’s self-developed hexahedral insulation technology for battery cells and uses nanoscale aerospace-level insulation materials, ensuring that each battery cell is in safe working state.

    In terms of range, the EH7 can achieve a maximum CLTC-rated range of 820 kilometers. With a 5-minute charge, it can replenish up to 215 km of energy.

  • FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle segment of FAW Group, announced on March 13 that it signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with MAHLE Automotive Technologies (China) Co., Ltd. (referred to as “MAHLE”) in Changchun, Jilin Province.

    According to the agreement, FAW Jiefang and MAHLE will fully leverage their respective resource advantages, establish a long-term and stable strategic and cooperative partnership, explore collaborative R&D models, continuously enhance their market influence, and achieve win-win cooperation.

    CHANGCHUN -- China's leading automaker, FAW Group Co Ltd, reported surging vehicle sales in the first two months of this year, getting the company off to a good start for 2024.

    FAW Group's auto sales exceeded 448,000 units in the first two months of 2024, up 17.7 percent year-on-year, according to the carmaker.

    Of the group's total sales, its Hongqi car brand alone accounted for 65,300 units, a year-on-year increase of 37.56 percent. Hongqi plans to launch more new energy vehicle models this year, which will boost its sales further.

    FAW Group is state-owned and headquartered in Changchun, the capital of Northeast China's Jilin province. It has produced and sold more than 54 million vehicles over more than six decades.
